Mont St Michel's
causeway
is only accessible on foot or by using official
transport (navettes) from 30th April. This move is to help
remove a build up of silt in the Bay of Mont St Michel and
return it to its original form. Eventually even the
causeway will be replaced by a bridge. All this is very
attractive to look at and necessary regarding the silt built up
however be prepared to park further away than in the past.
Barsn St-Malo:
The bars in St
Malo are holding a mini musical festival on Thursday 10 and
Friday 10 May from 19.00 h. About a dozen groups will be
playing at various locations

Car Drivers
Beware! ....
From January 2012 it
is illegal to have a SatNav or GPS showing speed cameras or any
kind of radar detector in our car and this applies even if you
are not using it. The fine for contravening this goes up to
1500. The device can be confiscated and worse still even the
vehicle. AND from July 1st 2012 drivers have to carry a
breathalyser kit and it is advised to carry two of these.
New Shopping
Centres
are fast developing on trading estates in the
Dinan, St Malo and Dinard areas.
At Taden, on Dinan
outkirts, the shopping centre continues to expand and
includes a branch of Subway Sandwich, a Chinese Buffet
Restaurant and take away and a newly relocated Magasin Vert and
Decathalon.
Lanvally has a
shopping centre with a variety of stores including a branch of
Euronics!
St Malo has
developed the large Cezembre centre where among the many stores
there is a branch of the English C&A.
A huge centre on the
lines of Cap Malo near Rennes, is under construction at Le
Richardais close to Dinard and will be called Cap Emeraude. |
