Most of the 2010 dates are on the page however it is always hard to get the necessary information which often comes out at the last minute and some still is not available. Many towns have regular events such as guided walks, painting and craft classes and it is also worth checking with the tourism office to see what is available. We try to provide the main dates for festivals, "pardons" - (religious procession which often includes a celebration with entertainment) and bigger events.

PERROS-GUIREC Station Kid Award Holder Perros- Guirec has received a prestigious award as a StationKid and so abounds with child friendly activities. Go to Children's Activities in Brittany for more information 1st July to 31st August Club des Dauphins Children's Beach Club 8th August 2010 Fete de la Mer taking place at Ploumanac'h 7th and 8th August 2010 Festival de la Cite des Hortensias three days of Celtic music with 500 musicians playing. Takes place in the town centre and Jardins de la Capitaineries . Entry fee charged of 6 euros and free for children. Says it is Saturday evening, Sunday afternoon and continues to Sunday evening. Celtic music and dancing but rock as well as traditional. Costumes, displays etc. 14th and 15th August 2010 Pardon Notre Dame de la Clarté. The crew of a sinking boat were saved by the lights of the chapel and this is celebrated annually.

Passeur Blessé 30th, 1st July and 1st August La Fête des Fleurs d’Ajonc This is the Festival of Gorse Flowers and has taken place since 1905 and is considered one of the oldest festivals in Brittany. A Parade follows mass and the girl chosen as Queen of the Gorse Flowers travels in a carriage with her maids of honour. Very popular festival attracting people from other countries as well as local people
PONTRIEUX 24th July 2010 :Couleurs De Bretagne - Fete De La Peinture Anyone can take part in this competition whether an amateur or trained artist. 1st August 2010 Fete de la Moisson at Domaine de la Roche Jagou 15th August 2010 Fete des Lavoirs - Procession of Washerwomen with Breton musicians. The washerwomen stop at the Fountain and sing the Pontrieux hymn. Boats go up and down the river all day passing the 50 restored Lavoirs covered with flowers. Entertainment and Breton and Irish music in the evening 2nd August 2010 Marche d'Antan Starting off with a parade at 10h of people in traditional costumes, vintage cars and tractors, old crafts are on view, cider is made and the farm is open for viewing.

RENNES 5th to 10th July 2010 Festival Les Tombees De La Nuit 2010 - annual festival combining music, circus and theatre where the streets are full of atmosphere and fun
ROSCOFF 9th to19th July 2010 Funfair and on the 13th National Day Fireworks 21st and 22nd July 2010 Fête de l'Oignon de Roscoff - opening ceremony on evening of 20th July with Concert de la chorale Mouez Rosko at the Church at 21.00. Free entry. All is about onions - with the bringing in of onions on tractors, judging onion tarts, buying onions and the Maison des Johnnies et de l’oignon de Roscoff can be visited at special rates. "Do not shed any tears" - this is a really fun festival.
