Holiday Cottages
and Coastal Villas in the picturesque region of Morbihan in Southern
Brittany
Gite Retreat comprises nine beautiful properties in a variety of
locations in the Morbihan area of Brittany. Most are in country
locations, one is coastal and two have swiming pools. The gites comprise
one for a couple and baby, two for 4 people and baby, two for six and
baby, one for 8 and baby, one for 12 and baby and has a swimming pool.
There is even one for 14 and two babies. This has its own swimming pool
too.
Gite Retreat has been registered as a business for 18 years now.
Realising the demand for a higher standard of holiday property, it was
created when the Pace family migrated to France from the UK. Robert runs
a property and garden business renovating buildings and grounds to the
highest standard, whilst Angela searches out other high quality
properties for holiday accommodation and manages the letting business.
The Morbihan area is noted for its outstanding beauty, where almost one
third of Brittany’s coastline is to be found. Gorgeous sandy beaches and
rocky coves abound, which are never overcrowded even in the Summer. The
roads are unbelievably quiet even in the Peak season, which makes
travelling around very easy. Parking is usually free.
There are many towns to be visited including Auray, a mediaeval town
with an old port at St Goustan and superb restaurants. Pontivy and
Josselin are famous for their chateaux, Vannes an old market town and
port has a magnificent cathedral and lots of interesting shops and 2
markets a week. Lorient is a new town with a variety of shops, cinemas,
restaurants and is host to the big Interceltic Music Festival at the
beginning of August every year.
Carnac, famous for
its standing stones, has a marvellous sandy beach with games for the
kids and an abundance of good seafood restaurants and creperies. The
Gulf of Morbihan, with 365 islands, can only be described as beautiful
and you can take a boat trip around them should you so desire.
